Welcome!

Friday, November 21st, 2008

Welcome to my website! I do freelance web design in my free time (of which I have plenty due to being laid off recently from my full time job) and have some pretty competitive rates. I have skill with PHP, Basic HTML (and SHTML), Perl CGI, MySQL databases, as well as knowledge of Apache web server & .htaccess programming. I also work with Photoshop to create graphical elements for websites and am constantly working to improve what I know.

What can I offer a client that others can't? Mainly much more competitive pricing and a hard working demeanor that puts the customer first. Many of the other web designers out there look at the bottom line (cash) only and tend to use templates for their work. I work with each person seperately and tend to hand program most of the websites. Take a look around and let me know what you think, you can Contact me via my web form and ask about services I can offer as well as pricing.

Bulletin (08/13/07): I have to hand it to you spammers, you sure to try hard to bypass various security measures to send me spam. As annoying as it is you are making me look in new directions and improving my code with each attempt - I personally want to avoid using any sort of CAPTCHA system, and am striving to keep you little buggers from messing with my forms.

Status Change - Sort of
2008-07-11

Just an update on the lack of updates: I am in the US Army right now actively training to get things going right. Once I leave all the training behind and get to a unit, I will be updating the site more regularly and get back to my programming niche.

Until then, thanks for visiting and I hope that something here is found useful.

Small backend changes
2007-11-29
I made some small backend changes because of spammers; Normal usage should not be affected, but I will be on the lookout for anything wrong as time goes on.

Big Change Coming
2007-11-13
I am going to be changing domains and hosts for this website within the next week or so, I am doing it for management reasons and the new site should work a bit better with more features that I can enable.

Stay tuned for the actual move, this will affect email and all links - I will be sure to put a proper referal page up here so that people can update their bookmarks.

Updated version of NFOView available
2007-08-25
I have created an updated version of NFOView that uses the .NET framework; This allows the installer to be about half the size of the older version, and also allows for it to take an even smaller footprint in memory.

You can get the new version by visiting this page, and you can still download the old version by visiting this page.

Head on over to the NFOView Project Page to see what the program is all about.

This also provides a stepping stone for converting all of my apps over to .NET (keeping legacy versions for those who prefer to use them), and to easily create a bug tracking system that fully integrates into the software.

Coming Soon - Bug Tracking System
2007-08-24
I will be implementing a custom bug tracking system over the next couple of months, this sytem will be sort of like the ones you see at BugZilla and the like, but will be hand coded and integrated with the apps I have created.

I will also be updating all of my software code bases to use the new bug tracking system, this will take the longest but I will make sure to notate which programs receive it and when. Submitting bugs will be done either automatically or at user discretion (there will be options added to the programs to reflect this), and can be completely anonymous. Bugs that are confirmed will be displayed in a special section of the website along with status on fixing them.

For now you can submit bugs via the Contact Me page.

(Note: This post was made from a custom desktop application I coded to work with my sites back end. It integrates seamlessly with my site scripting and security protocols and only took a few days to program in C#.Net - most of which was learning my way around the language [I am a VB Coder at heart]).

Now that I am getting the hang of C# you can expect more robust software coming out of my cave.
